Mimaki TS300P-1800: The Industrial Powerhouse Redefining DTF at Scale

The Mimaki TS300P-1800 isn’t for hobbyists it’s for businesses where DTF printing is a core revenue stream. Priced like a small car but built like a tank, this hybrid printer blurs the line between direct-to-film and direct-to-garment with surgical precision and relentless uptime.

Unlike converted desktop printers, the TS300P-1800 treats white ink as a first-class citizen. Its closed-loop circulation system, paired with real-time viscosity monitoring, ensures every transfer has the same opaque base critical when you’re running 500 identical hoodies for a corporate client. The dual CMYK+LcLm configuration delivers photo-realistic skin tones and subtle gradients that budget printers simply can’t match.

In production, it’s a beast: 48 square meters per hour means you can output over 1,000 large transfers in a single shift. The roll-to-roll system handles 71-inch-wide PET film effortlessly, and Mimaki’s anti-curl technology prevents film jams during long runs.

Yes, the $30K+ price tag is steep. But when downtime costs hundreds per hour, the TS300P-1800’s reliability, serviceability, and print consistency justify every penny. For serious players in the custom apparel space, this isn’t an expense it’s a competitive advantage.

This is a sublimation transfer printer, not a true DTF rig. A sales guy at a trade show told me it could handle DTF film with the right ink swap. Lies. The ink system is engineered for dye sub and you'll fight it forever trying to run pigment white through it. Banding all over my prints, head clogs every couple of days. If you do sublimation, it's a solid printer. If you bought it thinking it was a DTF machine, refund it or accept the loss. Wish I read more before signing.

We've been running the Mimaki TS300P for about 4 months now. The print quality is exceptional, especially on photographic designs. Color matching between screen and print is very accurate. The ink system is reliable, though replacement cartridges are a bit pricey. My only complaint is the RIP software feels outdated compared to competitors. Overall a solid machine for a mid-size operation.
